As a mother of three and the daughter of public-school educator, I know how critical our schools are in shaping the next generation. I’m running for the Delaware Township Board of Education to make sure every student has a board that listens, advocates, and takes action to help them thrive.

My Story

I am a parent, community volunteer, and local business owner dedicated to the success of Delaware Township School. Since moving to the community in 2019, I have been an active part of school life  I have been serving on the PiE board for four years, running the Book Fair for three years, volunteering as a classroom parent every year, and contributing to both the Teacher of the Year Committee and the Early Childhood Advisory Council. I also serve as a 4-H volunteer leader and own Haxton Homestead, a family farm that provides locally raised meats and educational programs for children and adults.  I have delivered farm-based educational programs to students in schools across New Jersey.

As the mother of three children, 8th grade, 6th grade, and a 2-year-old, I am personally invested in the long-term success of the district. Coming from a family of public-school educators, I value the critical role schools play in shaping the next generation. I am running for the Delaware Township Board of Education to ensure that every student has a board that listens, advocates, and takes meaningful action to support their growth and achievement.

I believe that by working together with our entire community and focusing on the needs of both today’s students and tomorrow’s leaders, we can unlock limitless possibilities for every child. Small class sizes and a rigorous, student-centered approach help nurture creativity, curiosity, resourcefulness, and a deep commitment to our community—ensuring that every child has the support and opportunities to thrive.

My Story

I have lived in Delaware Township for 27 years, where my husband and I raised six children—all of whom attended DTS. During those years, I was actively engaged in the school community, serving as a substitute teacher and coaching middle school field hockey while my daughters were players. In addition, I volunteered with the Delaware Township Athletic Association (DTAA) as a basketball and soccer coach and coached many township girls in the Flemington Red Devils lacrosse program. These experiences gave me a close, practical understanding of DTS classrooms, teams, and families.

My past community service includes appointments to the Environmental Commission, the
Planning Board, and the Council on Affordable Housing (COAH). I was elected to serve on the Township Committee for nine years, including two years as mayor, and I also worked with our citizens’ group that fought—and won—against the PennEast Pipeline.

For the past 15 years, I have worked in higher education as a university professor specializing in public health and healthcare administration. This background enables me to bring a perspective on what students need to thrive in high school and beyond: strong academics paired with social-emotional skills like collaboration, resilience, and communication.
